BMW has one of the most powerful brand series M and now its M5 has just turned 30. There is a secret celebration going on in there and they are looking back at all the previous models of its glorious saloons. A video has been leaked of the celebration where latest M5 is shown making smoky donuts.
It was the year 1985 when first M5 made its debut and was crowned as the most expensive model ever made by the company at that time. There is a potent 3.5 litre six cylinder engine, churning out 282 hp in the BMW M5. It is still one step ahead of rest of the world as it is the fastest production four door sports car in the world at this time.
BMW is still not revealing this surprise as they are planning to have all five generations of M5 indexed and there is a mere possibility that sometime later this year, we might see a special anniversary edition model. This is just a speculation at this time; it might come true or might not. Let us all wait and see how things turn out.
BMW refocuses the brand and the Mk4 Mini line-up is likely to be launched with just five models at the end of the decade
There will be only four or five models in the fourth generation of MINI and it is said by Peter Schwarzenbauer, he is the member of BMW board for MINI and Rolls-Royce. Schwarzenbauer further recommended that the Mini line-up could be abridged from the six or seven models intended for the third-generation range, due at the end of the decade. He also said that he would like to make out the styling of prospect Mini models to transform to have much superior segregation. The new but first fruit from the alliance between Toyota and BMW will be the all new two-seater which will bung high-tech Hybrid expertise from Toyota’s Le Mans program. BMW is facing performance problems in the Chinese markets as some issues have been reported and in order to maintain their quality BMW has decided to recall more than ten thousand vehicles. You should know that this is not a big recall, because in 2003, a record 5.3 million vehicles were recalled from Chinese market which included both foreign and local makes.
BMW has announced a recall for 10,234 units of 7-Series saloon cars. The BMW 7-Series is an advanced vehicle which has keyless entry and start system. This recall notice was issued on Wednesday but it will start from March 24, and will be completed in several phases. If you own one of the BMW 7-Series then keep in mind it that it has a faulty comfort access system.
General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine, with which BMW filed the recall notice said, “The 7-Series is facing issues in comfort access system that may trigger the safety hazards.” First phase of recall will start from March 24, and 8676 vehicles will be recalled in this phase. These vehicles will include those produced between march10, 2004 to July 31, 2008. These batches can face difficulties in starting the comfort control and access system.
The production batches between March 1, 2004 and July 8, 2008 are subjected to door issues. These are almost 1558 cars, experiencing faulty locks that may seem to be locked but actually not. These doors can open unexpectedly in uneven conditions and can cause serious accidents.
BMW china Inspection and quarantine division stated on their website, “BMW will recall 8,676 7-series saloons produced between March 1, 2004 and July 31, 2008 due to a software glitch that could potentially cause a car to slip downhill when parked on a slope.” the agency said,”BMW will recall further 1,558 cars of 7-series cars made between March 1, 2004 and July 8, 2008 due to a software problem that could cause doors to release un expectedly when on bumpy roads.”
BMW was on the Hybrid technology since couple of years and they have made several researches prior to launch any plug-in Hybrid SUV to confirm the reaction of customers. X5 was under consideration since years as an option for a plug-in Hybrid and the prototype for this massive modification was expected to preview the production model which could be called X5 eDrive.
Recently, it was seen under attesting with different name as BMW X5 eDrive Plug-in Hybrid and it was more likely expected that X5 is ready to be launched any time in 2014 or 2015 but BMW was hushed on this issue. It is likely to be introduced under the name of X5 xdrive40e while BMW has revealed official details of this Plug-in Hybrid X5.
This Plug-in Hybrid version is likely to be powered by a twin turbo engine and a powerful electric motor.

This is a new BMW 2-series Active Tourer MPV with an adaptable five-seat interior which made its much awaited debut at this year’s Geneva Motor Show. The new BMW is likely to go on sale in September and the prices are confirmed to be below £23k.
The 2-series Active Tourer espouses a transversely mounted engine and standard front-wheel drive. It will also be the first time when BMW is using the three cylinder engine for any BMW after MINI. Initial version of Active Tourer is the 218i Active Tourer powered by a three-cylinder turbocharged 1.5-litre petrol engine which is capable of producing 134bhp and 162lb ft of torque. It will be joined at launch by the 218d, which has a 2.0-litre four-pot turbodiesel with 148bhp of power and 243lb-ft of pulling power and an average fuel economy of 69.9mpg. By next year, you will also be able to decide between further three front-wheel-drive models as well as four-wheel-drive 225i Xdrive and 220d Xdrive models.

Some excellent four-cylinder diesels have been released recently and this BMW unit is beginning to look outclassed in terms of refinement. It tackles motorways with the comfort and refinement you expect of a far more expensive car. That’s not to say that the 2 Series is a cheap car in the first place, with this 220d SE model costing £25,865.
BMW 535d xDrive absolutely loves to travel but current BMW 5 Series isn’t a new car, regardless of being launched with several updates for the 2014 model year. But the noticeable thing is the 3.0-liter turbodiesel inline six-cylinder engine found under the hood. It is acquired from the well-built version of larger X5 xDrive35d and is also expected in the future 740Ld xDrive.

This is the point where you can seriously feel the power of a diesel engine.
