BMW fans have been wishing for a new BMW 2015 M4 Gran Coupe and one of my friends was about to buy a new BMW and said that “i am going to hold off until i can get a Gran Coupe version”. Coupe will never become a reality. Darn! Darn it all!
BMW M4 Gran Coupe
BMW planned to introduce a 4-Series Gran Coupe with an extra pair of doors and hatchback, but in the M version there was a 425 horse power twin turbo straight six BMW engine.
BMW explains that they put the plan into bin because of costs of making the Gran Coupe for M4, while the M sales chief Jorg Bartels said that at the launch of new M4 in the Australian markets; BMW will definitely consider an M4 Gran Coupe. However they decided against it because the entire production line up is laying off workers in different areas of Germany. The 3-Series and 4-Series Coupeand Gran Coupe are all built in different factories and adding the M production to a new production facility does not make any sense in financial means, said Bartels.
BMW M4 Coupe
Apart from several rumours, i think that we are not missing much as recently our experts rode in a 435i Gran Coupe in a parade lap and you will be amazed that how similar it was to a 3-Series. If you still want the M4 Gran Coupe then it’s better to change your mind to think about the M4 Convertible, set to debut next year. However, if you still like four doors then there is always an option of M3.
BMW’s new X4 is a more dynamic version of its X-Series that can surely divide the opinion. The X4 is solid evidence that BMW doesn’t base its new approach on opinions from journalists, who have a tendency to find its improved and larger fellow, the X6, about as attractive as flatulence. Instead, it has taken the wild scheme of observing what customers want to pay for, and building models BMW thinks they would like.
As even as the X6 might not be well-liked in the
X4 2014 Interior
UK, but it is famous in China and the US, where the volume of its yearly 36,000 sales come from. The X4 will be offered In the UK with three diesel engine options including a 2.0-Litre 190bhp, and two straight six versions of 258bhp and 313bhp powered by turbos. The most powerful version will be offered for £48,995 and it is an xDrive35d, has the 0-62mph timing of just 5.2sec, which is almost certainly about as fast as you’ll ever want; even the slowest version manages it in a highly regarded 8.0sec.
Sadly, the only engine offered to test at the car’s introduction was the xDrive35i with 3.0-litre turbo petrol.
Just like the X6 which is the Sport activity Coupe version of X5, so is the X4 of X3 which is built in BMW’s Spartanburg plant in South Carolina. BMW has offered a performance control mechanism as standard on all X4 versions but you can choose the throttle response and eight speed automatic transmissions as standard.
BMW has revealed an all new X6 for 2015 along with the M Sport last week. They have finally taken the wraps of the whole bunch of equipment details along with engine specifications for 2015 X6. Some details and changes are obvious which include interior and exterior designs. The UK version of BMW X6 includes the xDrive50i, which is exclusively powered by the latest generation of BMW V8 engines. These engines are capable of generating 450 horsepower and xDrive30d on other hand has a 258 horsepower engine. Most muscular version of BMW X6 is powered by a M50d diesel engine that delivers almost 381 horsepower.
BMW X6 2015 M Sport has a distinctive body style with a front and rear bumpers, redesigned side skirts, a new grille on the front end and chrome tail pipes at rear. Interior has state of the art Alcantara leather upholstery, a sports steering wheel and exclusively elegant door sill plates. The prices haven’t been announced for the new 2015 X6.
BMW is one of the most influential automakers in the world. BMW periodically releases some fascinating models for auto market and they have several business divisions which are known for performance, such as M-Performance. Hybrid cars have become another speciality for BMW.
BMW ActiveHybrid 3
They introduced ActiveHybrid few years ago and the ActiveHybrid 3 is an exclusive continuation of the series. It has some impressive performance figures and after wrapping off the BMW 1-Series and M135i in 2013, BMW has decided that time is now in favour of ActiveHybrid 3 to be initiated. They have taken an initial step by publicising some performance details and official images of the vehicle.
It is the first ever Hybrid out of the 3-series and in the Hybrid line-up of BMW known as the ActiveHybrid 3. In the past, BMW was exclusively focusing on the fuel economy of its vehicles and in the case of Hybrid vehicles, they are exclusively being made to cut down fuel figures with the lower power uses, but this time German automaker is doing differently. The ActiveHybrid 3 is powered by 3.0 Litre l-6 engine.
BMW ActiveHybrid 3 Interior
BMW enginesare well admired for their performance and this six cylinder engine has the same roots, producing 306 hp and further helped by an electric motor of 55hp, powered by a lithium-ion battery pack stated under the boot of the vehicle. Totalling the 340 hp, the power produced by this entire system, can push the ActiveHybrid package on the road very aggressively, from zero to 62 miles per hour in just 5.3 seconds. This Hybrid active system keeps pushing the vehicle till it hits the electronically controlled speed of 155 miles per hour. Battery pack has the travel capacity of 3 miles out of a full charging cycle. Fuel economy is bar at fifty plus miles per gallon but it is still subjected to advancements and hope it will deliver utmost performance when it makes its debut on the road.
BMW M performance is a well admired division of BMW’s high performance sports cars and premium vehicles but apart from the entire M-Performance division, M235i is an imagination of extreme performance and superior quality in the premium compact segment. It is a unique car that facilitates its rider to enjoy the unique sport driving experience. Premium compacts are relatively small in size but these small beauties offer utmost luxury and style, some other examples include, Audi S3 and Mercedes AMG A45.
It presents a taste of 2-Series Coupe line-up but has a huge difference in price from its actual 2-Series. The M235i is an ultimate driving machinethat brings a massive performance for its speed enthusiasts and for those who has a hunch for speed. It is possible that its owners can participate in the local racing contests because it has a muscular BMW engine to empower the small beauty.
BMW has equipped the M235i with the most muscular engine in its compact line up of M-performance. It is a six cylinder power unit which is further supported by M performance turbo technology to produce maximum output of 326 horsepower, and it is capable of launching the M235i from zero to 60 miles in just five seconds. When it runs on the road like a raging bull then casual braking system can’t stop it, so to stop the M235i, BMW has installed the most reliable M Sport Braking system.
It has very comfortable and luxurious interior that appeals to everyone. It has a huge neck room and reasonable leg room. Several driving modes help the driver to drive according to terrain conditions and improve the fuel consumption by up to 20 per cent. Fuel economy figures are claimed at 22 miles per gallon in the city while 32 miles per gallon on the motorway.
Why rational people select a BMW than a Hyundai or Audi? Secondly, what could possibly appeal to a customer to pay almost three or four times extra for a car that offers same options and features as the one that could be bought for almost three times less? It is brand awareness.
It is the brand awareness that can dictate the shopping habits of the customers around the world and companies started to learn this marketing technique back in 60s, and now they are getting full benefits from this practice. It was the time when the big logo trend started around worldwide. In 80s, clothes with big logos were introduced in the market. Everyone feels proud of their brands and the same goes with cars and fashion. There is another psychological factor that impacts badly and it is the belief that expensive buy returns best quality, some time, it is true but usually you might wish to re-think.
All this discussion also influences the rankings of the brands and companies, that’s why 2014 Brands Top 100 has issued rankings for the car makers because people want to know about their brands and their progress as well, either they are profitable or not.
This time, top four positions are occupied by Google, Apple, IBM, and Microsoft and they have proved that these companies are world’s most valuable organisations at the moment. But as we are talking about the auto division, things are much more complicated and different however, the best rank is earned by Toyota with an estimated brand value of $29billion and it is followed by the one and only BMW with the brand value of $25billion.
According to the list BMWhas occupied 32nd place while Toyota is sitting at 26th. These two manufacturers are in top thirty and followed by Mercedes at 42 and Honda on 70th position. BMW is growing gradually if we compare it with the previous year’s data, from where BMW fell two positions in the list. It is an almost 7% growth in a year.
BMW introduces first ever turbocharger in the M-Series
BMW M Series
BMW’s new generation of M-Series and M3 cars are beauties, but if you still like a classic M3 then we have an introductory buying guide for you that will help you out when you will decide on an old M3.
However, the new BMW M3 is a fantastic luxury but its partner M4 Coupe has some more fascinating features. This new generation was long awaited and so was teased by its successors such as E92 with V8 BMW engine, M3 was promised to make entry with six cylinders in-line engines which are light weight and fuel efficient.
The introduction of a turbo charger in any M3 for the first time is obviously a turning point in history. The era of natural aspiration has ended in the M3 with the introduction of new generation engines. It has smarter and efficient engines with more power on low revs, which doesn’t say that it is a bad car at all but a new cohort of M3. It is powered by a 3.0 Litre turbocharged engine which is one of the world’s most reliable and promising engines and known as world’s ever best turbocharged car engine.
But if you still don’t like the new M3 then it clearly explains that you might have some affection for old free-breathing engines. You might love the uptight 4-cylinder engine in E30 models, or an insane 3.2 Litre found in E46 or the barrel-chested V8 from E92. Don’t you? If yes then you must see that which version of non-forced induction will suit you when you own one.
As the classifieds have millions and millions of cars to sell from the German car maker but we have compiled a list of some best models out of the M breed.
BMW M3 E30 with 2.3-Litre 4-cylinder engine
BMW M3 E92 with i-Drive
BMW M3 E43 Power Dome
BMW M3 E36 with 3.0 Litre straight-six
Obviously, the list given above is the suggested one. Own or owned an M3? Share your experience with us.
BMW has confirmed that they have made a joint venture with SGL of America for a three times higher production of carbon fibre
BMW-SGL Group Moses Lake USA
The demand of using carbon fibre in the automobile manufacturing is increasing day by day and to fulfil its production needs BMW has confirmed a joint venture with SGL to increase their carbon fibre production. On other hand SGL has proclaimed that it’ll be tripling the capacity at its Moses Lake production facility to handle the enlarged carbon fibre demand.
This joint venture is not a new thing between BMW and SGL as they are already doing production at Moses Lake for BMW i-Series. Only the i3 production line up uses almost 3000 tonnes of carbon fibre every year however a third and fourth production line is currently being built to double the production capacity from 3000 to 6000 tonnes every year. Some further site expansion has been announced by the venture partners with an investment of $200million to timely complete the targets for 2015. After the completion of this plant, it will capture the position of being world’s largest carbon fibre production facility.
BMW Carbon Fibre Body Shells
All currently produced carbon fibre is used for the production of BMW i3 and is not enough to start parallel production for other carbon fibre based models. Both partners said that CFRP (carbon fibre reinforced plastics) applications are likely to grow in the concept cars and eco-friendly mobility in future.
The carbon fibre composts production is based on several processes and requires a precursor based on polyacryl-nitrile fibre which is an exclusive co-production of SGL and Mitsubishi Rayon. This raw material will be used for final carbon fibre production at Moses Lake facility. All this planning shows that your next BMW will be based on some extra carbon fibre and will be lightweight.
When BMW launched it 2-Series, it featured sleeker head lamps and the front grille was also more aggressive than of 1-Series.
BMW 228i blue
The BMW 228i Coupe was introduced earlier with a less powerful twin scroll turbocharged engine which was a little disappointing but now BMW is very determined to make up for this short come and close this performance gap by offering Track Handling Package for the 2015 models.
The complete 2-Series will be having Variable Sport Steering, suspension will be Adaptive M, there will be M Sport Braking system working behind light weight 18-inch wheels wearing Pilot Super Sport tyres by Michelin. The four cylinder engines will remain the same 240 horsepower units but in Coupe there will be plenty more fun with all the little tweaks and gismos it will incorporate.

According to the BMW, all new Track Handling Package will be introduced at the New York Auto Show and the month of July is announced as when this car will roll onto the showrooms. This model will be offered in a six speed manual and an eight speed automatic gearbox. The pricing has not be announced yet but it still is getting a good response.
New BMW 5-Series is the sixth generation of BMW’s 5-Series and being the fifth of this ‘New Series’ it is named ‘5 Series’. Ever since 1972 when the first executive saloon was manufactured by BMW, finally on January 29, 2008, BMW proudly built a Carbon Black Metallic coloured 530d which was 5-Series’ 5 millionth vehicle.
The most amazing thing about BMW generations is that they have been given a unique chassis number which differentiates one from another. Not to mention the naming tradition, which is very interesting in itself like the model is represented by the first digit, then size of the engine is represented by following two digits and at the last, define the petrol or diesel fuel type an additional letter or word is added.
BMW 5-Series Engine
This 5-Series consists of many variations such as the 520i, 528i, 530i, 535i and 550i are the petrol versions of BMW 5-Series. Meanwhile 520d, 525d, 530d and 535d represents the diesel models of BMW 5-Series. A 2.0-litre BMW 5-Series engine produces 218 hp, whereas 535d received upgrade and now comes with 313 hp. BMW’s revolutionary drive system ‘xDrive’ is also available with all the models of 5-Series to improve the economy and drive experience.
